Remember the church that brought you the God Sex abomination? Their four-week sermon series this past summer had such sermon titles as:
July 08 - Seven Minutes in Heaven [**Sex Party**]
July 15 - Stripped Bare
July 22 - Leather, Whips, and Whipped Cream.
July 29 - What Happens in Vegas Doesn’t Stay in Vegas
Well, they’re back once again to prove that the very idea of sacredness, reverence and holiness is still non-existent in their social club. This Sunday pastor David Trotter will be teaching about the disciples.
But for those in his “church” that would be bored to tears (I mean really, teaching from the Bible is so archaic) fear not, because pastor Trotter has decided to spice it up a bit. Judging by the picture on his blog advertising the upcoming teaching, it is sure to be a hoot:
I mean who wouldn’t want to learn about the disciples when you superimpose the heads of Bart Simpson, Drew Carrey, Mr. T, Jim Carrey and Dr. Phil on their cartoon bodies?
I (still) urge you pastor Trotter, please consider what you are doing. Quit trying to gain the approval of men. I truly fear for you. Please consider that the very God and His things that you show so little respect for is the very God who holds your life in His hands. The very One who has power to destroy both body and soul in hell. Please repent of this and return to the teaching of the Bible without all this adolescent silliness. God will not be mocked. Your very soul hangs in the balance. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God that you treat so flippantly and irreverently.
Here’s the official song of Reformation Nation.

Here’s the video of Kathy Griffin accepting her award. I honestly don’t see why the Christian community is so up in arms over this whole thing. Ms. Griffin is of the world and so she is behaving accordingly. The Christian community should be more up in arms by those who claim Jesus is their Lord but act as anything but. The Christian community should be more outraged by the state of the lukewarm Church. The Christian community should be more concerned with the false doctrines being taught by so many of today’s popular pastors. There will be more people finding themselves in Hell because of the lukewarm church, the false doctrines of popular pastors, and the poor example of Professing Christians than by anything Ms. Griffin can ever say or do.
(Clicking on the pictures in this post will enlarge them for better viewing).
There is a commonality among all cults. This commonality is their attack on such accepted Christian beliefs as the Trinity, the deity of Christ, His atonement for our sins, salvation being through faith by grace alone without works, the beauty of what the cross signifies, etc. Like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormonism also has an aversion to the cross (as does Satan since that’s where he was defeated). So to direct the masses’ attention away from the only thing that saves them (the finished work that was done upon that cross) these cults come up with all sorts of ways to defame the cross.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the cross all together claiming Jesus died on a “torture stake.” But they don’t stop there. They claim the cross where our Lord died to redeem His people is a pagan symbol!
The Mormons, however, simply downplay the cross. Because they have absolutely no comprehension of the beauty of the cross and its role in our salvation, they think it’s a foolish symbol. Their usual argument goes like this: “If Jesus was killed by a gun would you wear a gun on a chain around your neck?” They fail to understand that Jesus willingly laid down His life (Mark 10:45) and that it was the most beautiful act of love for His people.
Mormonism takes away from the cross by teaching that the most important part of Jesus’ sacrifice occurred in the Garden of Gethsemane when He sweat blood; not on the cross. Again, this diverts the attention away from the very thing that defeated Satan to something that did not have an active role in our salvation. The sweating of blood is not what saves those who put their trust in Christ. It was the sacrifice on the cross!
But Mormonism doesn’t leave it’s people without symbols. Even though Mormon wards, stakes and temples are completely absent of crosses, it’s chock full of occultic and Masonic symbols, even on the holy underwear that its members wear for protection.
Most disturbing though, is Mormonism’s blatant use of the inverted Satanic pentagram.
This same symbol is used by Anton La Vey:
And adorns his Satanic Bible:
Without question it is an occultic symbol which has no business being on anything “holy.” But that doesn’t seem to deter Mormons. As you will see below, the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are uncomfortable with the cross, feel right at home with the Satanic inverted pentagram!
Here are inverted pentagrams in their visitor’s center in the North Temple Square in Salt Lake City:
Here is the inverted pentagram on their South Temple Eagle Gate at State Street in Salt Lake City:
Here’s the inverted pentagram on their History & Art Museum across from the Temple Square in Salt Lake City:
Most disturbing, however, is that they also place this universally known symbol of Satan on their most “sacred” of buildings, their Temple in Salt Lake City:
I would really have to be conditioned and indoctrinated since birth to “worship” in a Temple built by hands of men (where consequently God does not dwell - Acts 7:48, Acts 17:24 and 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16) that was covered in occultic, Masonic and Satanic symbols. How about you?
Pilgrim Radio will air part three of a three-part Church Discipline series by Pastor Chuck Betters on September 27th on its Morning and Night Classes. You can catch “Why Discipline” at 8AM or 8PM Pacific Standard Time (USA) via live streaming from their website. I will be featuring this whole three-part sermon series on my website ReformationNation.com in the near future.
Church discipline is a much neglected, ignored, and forgotten mandate of Christianity in today’s non-offensive, entertainment-driven, seeker-friendly, Churches. In this new era of incorrectly interpreting the Scriptures on how to deal with and address sin, we allow all sorts of sin to run rampant in the Body. Either because many pastors don’t know how, or refuse to practice Church discipline.
See also: Who Said That (3).
Satan has done a masterful job of deception within the body of Christ. Christianity has been redefined to fit modern society. It is now a good moneymaking business. The Christian music and entertainment industry skyrockets, while the Word of God is peddled for profit and the authentic Christian life of surrender and obedience is tossed aside as legalism. More then 2 billion people who do not know Jesus head toward hell to perish for eternity, while the Church laughs its way to hysteria, claiming this is the sign of the last days’ outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Instead of laying down our lives to serve the purposes of God, we try numerous ways to make the Almighty God our servant to fulfill our dreams and desires. My brothers and sisters, this is not Christianity.

This is a fascinating video of the growth of a baby in the womb from conception.
What you see in this video is not a “choice.”

Psalm 139:14
The inevitable result of (purposely) misunderstanding Scripture.
The greatest difficulty with this approach is that no JWs are going to stop and listen. If any of them did they’d they would be excommunicated from their “church.”
This is my first (and last) Paul Washer video. I hope it encourages you fellow Pilgrims.
The Reformed Evangelist has a good post with links to a two-part Bible Answer Man on Mormonism.
Can you tell the difference?
I would really like to know where this woman is today.
This poor blogger had high hopes that Ravi Zacharias would preach the uncompromised word to the Mormons:
Ravi Zacharias To Speak at Mormon Temple in November, 2004 per this online article . I hope and pray that Zacharias, Christianity’s most brilliant apologist, philosopher and author will preach the uncompromising and unadulterated word at this event.
Sadly, this blogger’s hopes and prayers did not come to pass:
Dr. Richard Mouw, who is President and Professor of Christian Philosophy at Fuller Theological Seminary, also spoke at this event. He let the the above blogger down too. Article at Mormon Research Ministry.
If only Zachuacharias and Muow took John MacArthur’s advice.
Haven’t we always been told that Harry Potter is simply make-believe and will never entice kids to actually pursue the occult? That reading the Potter books would never lead children to dabble in witchcraft, paganism, Satanism or other occult practices? Well apparently this bookstore didn’t get the memo.
Jesus said that it was hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, (Matthew 19:23-24). So much so that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. Well this story is a prime example of why.
This desert costs $14,500. To those who waste money on this, I hope you enjoy your life on earth, because you are receiving your goods now and as the rich man in Jesus’ story in Luke 16:19-31, you will one day have only one desire: To have those who you ignored who were in need around you on earth, to dip their finger in water to cool off your tongue.
The Bible says that God is a Spirit: God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24
Even the Book of Mormon says God is a Spirit: And then Ammon said: Believest thou that there is a Great Spirit? And he said yea. And Ammon said: This is God. And Ammon said unto him again: Believest thou that this Great Spirit Spirit, who is God, created all things which are in heaven and in the earth. Alma 18:26-28
(Side note: I find it interesting that, although this was supposed to be penned about 90 BC by Indians, it is in King James English. But that’s another whole topic).
So what does Joseph Smith say? The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s. Doctrine and Covenants 130:22.
If you tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said.
Want to be a Christian but don’t want to give up your love of psychics and psychic readings? Well now you don’t have to. Thanks to self-proclaimed psychic prophet Bishop E. Bernard Jordan, if you “donate” $50 you will receive a live-streaming “prophecy” in which the “company of prophets will call your name and prophesy to you into the camera while you watch.” Can’t afford $50? Then send your “$37 faith offering and receive your personal, tailer-made prophetic word from the prophet Jordan, in his own voice, on CD.”
Also, did you know that “the Bible is the greatest success manual ever written?” According to Bishop Jordan, applying the principles found in the Bible will transform you from a believer to an achiever.
And finally, what would any self-respecting psychic prophet be without his own line of prophet soap? That’s right! You can now order bars of soap that “will cause you to experience the prophetic in a way you would never expect.”
I enjoy the mild aroma of the Prophetic Awareness Soap , but I prefer the way the Prosperity Soap leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh.

And they wonder why the world thinks Christianity is a joke. This has as much to do with Christianity as eating pork has to do with Islam.
With the recent passing of Tammy Faye Bakker-Messner, and her funeral performed by the homosexual “Reverend” Randy McCain, I thought we should drop in and see what her ex-husband has been up to.
Welcome to the Jim Bakker Show. Notice the first box under his picture on his website is a Paypal link to “Donate Now.” The more things change the more they stay the same.
When I came out from solitary confinement and was with other prisoners and heard them speaking, I wondered why they spoke! So much of our speech is useless. Today men become acquainted with each other and one will say, “How do you do?” and the other answers, “How do you do?” What is the use of this? Then one will say, “Don;t you think that the weather is fine?” and the other thinks, and says, “Yes, I think it is fine.” Why do we have to speak on whether the weather is fine? We do not take earnestly the word of Jesus who says that men will be judged not for every bad word, but for every useless one.

This church describes itself as having “awesome” worship and a “relevant” message. Judging by this post and accompanying video, they also feel bike safety is the most important need in the community. Read the article and watch the video. Day 1: Bike stunts, games and inflatables. Day 2: Hyped up music which they hope the kids will come back for.
Quote from the video: Why do Summer Slam? “To reach a need in our community by spreading a message of bike safety to show people a relationship with our church and Jesus.”
Jesus “was the first man to be born again from sin, sickness, demons, death to life.“
And yet the multitudes continue to sit under his teachings and send this wolf their money.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- Hebrews 4:14-16
For those who think Mormonism is just another Christian denomination, I present for your consideration the following quote from Mormonism’s founder:
“Many men say there is one God; the Father, the son and the Holy Ghost are only one God! I say this is a strange God anyhow—three in one, and one in three! It is a curious organization. . . . All are to be crammed into one God, according to sectarianism. It would make the biggest God in all the world. He would be a wonderfully big God—he would be a giant or a monster.“
(History of the Church * Volume 6 Page 476 * 1844)
But Joseph Smith couldn’t even get his own teachings straight. His teaching on the Trinity contradicts the very teaching of the Book of Mormon:
“. . . And now behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God without end. Amen.“
(Book of Mormon * 2 Nephi 31:21 * Allegedly written between 559 BC and 545 BC)
“. . . Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one eternal God . . .“
(Book of Mormon * Alma 11:44 * Allegedly written in 82 BC)
“. . . unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God . . .“
(Book of Mormon * Mormon 7:7 * Allegedly written in 385 AD)
So which one is it modern Mormon? Which doctrine is correct? Who was correct on the Trinity? Joseph Smith or the Book of Mormon?
